I have service D with 2,3,5,9,12,13 listed as my scheduled tasks. Is this normal for an 03 E500 with 68K? Also, what are the additional items in the submenu? Are they to be schedules tasks as well?

Mobil1 oil uses Moly as additive, so you will always geta high reading on that. You can check their site to see the ppm they use and hope it is uniform accross build lots. With Moly cost being so high they may be reducing the amount added.
I like to use oils that do not use as additive some metals that may indicate wear in my engines, so I stay away from that brand. Othyer than that it is one of the top options you can make.

I thought I had read somewhere, but a search doesn't help, that there was some kind of bulletin reference that an oil/filter change was covered under the free service (2004MY) after 1 year or 13k mi, whichever comes first.
I'd appreciate a reference because I have a service H+ being performed next week and the SA is telling me that an oil change is NOT covered. (It's been 1 1/2 yrs, 4k miles since the last one). Vehicle is still under 4 yrs/50k miles.

MY05 MB replaced reliance on the FSS indication with fixed intervals. MY03, MY04, and MY05 have the same engines and as such require an oil change every 13000 miles or one year whichever comes first: http://www.mbusa.com/care/service/maintenance.do

Thanks Dan, however that link doesn't state anything re entitled to oil change/filter after 1yr under the free maintenance program. Wasn'there a MB bulletin stating this when the change was put into effect ? I need some reference to show my SA and that link just describes the FSS.

hello...Is it true?...I was in MB dealer last weekend and ask one of thesevice advisors about service A,B C etc.....he said basically in American model cars theirs only A nd B services.......so if you have C for service this means its a service A needed and D for B and so on and so forth....hmmm should I beleive him?

I, as many here on the forum, would suggest sending a sample of your oil to the lab for analysis before your first change. This will not only satisfy your curiosity, but will also serve as proof that the first oil change should be done at 5000 miles thereafter adhering to the 13000/1-year (whichever comes first) recommendation if you plan to keep the vehicle. Once you receive the sample kit, you can have your dealer extract a sample that should be cost free.

My 07 Bluetec has 16,12,14 in the FSS service menu. I can't find anything on here anywhere about service 16. Does anyone know?

Oh, getting into the FSS menu on mine was even tricker than what I found here. Maybe what I found will help some of those who can't get in.

1) Ignition Position 1
2) Outside Temp Display
3) HOLD trip odometer until display reverts to speed (0 MPH), then
4) Press trip odometer 3 times.... then you'll get voltage.
5) then use Up/Down arrows and +/- buttons as directed elsewhere.

Check the service book in your packet, numbered service items should be in the back of this service book.

On page 61, it states that for US Service 15-19 are not applicable. The reason that the Instrument Cluster is requesting a 16 should be investigated by the dealer. As a matter of reference note FSS (Flexible Service System) is not actually fitted to this model. This model has the Mercedes-Benz Maintenance System fitted which a fixed mileage interval as opposed to FSS, which was dynamic.

I agree. I just used FSS for brevity in my original question, and I was at a loss for what else to call it.

Sure, it is going in for the 20K mile service on Thursday (display suggests "Service C"). We'll see what the clowns at my local dealership come up with. Thanks for your replies.

Your the Man!. I've been all over that FSS with no joy on my Bluetec. Thanks for opening the door. You might want to mod your directions though. I needed to press the screen button to scroll vice using the +/- or up/down. Was this true for you?
Anyway I had the same thing for the FSS, for me it was 3,12,16,13. I am at 26K right now. However, I had the A service at 10K the B at 20K but when I picked it up from the 20K service I noticed it still said I needed Service B in 10K mile (meaning at 30K). I took it back to the dealer the next week to correct this, but when I picked it up at the end of the day (yes they had it all day) it still stated I needed a Service B

Reading all of these posts made me curious, so I called up my service menu this evening just to see what items are listed for my vehicle.

I read in a different post that someone's service data showed the following:

Service Data
- 21M000000Q
- Weighting = 225
- Miles Remaining = 5,809
- Days Remaining = 190

When I view the same data in my vehicle I see:

Service Data
- 1K000000L
- Miles Remaining = +9900
- Days Remaining = +261

I understand what the miles/days remaining means, but I can't figure out the number/letter combination above it, nor do I know why my display doesn't display the weighting information.

Can someone please tell me what that number/letter combo means and why I don't have weighting info?

BTW...my former MB dealer performed a used car inspection in December prior to my purchasing the vehicle. According to the tech report, they performed a "3750 Mile Oil and Filter Change w/Syn". If anyone knows what a "3750 Mile Oil...Change" is I would sure like to know. Is that some code that MB uses when they add cheap oil or filter? I can't imagine they would not use Mobil 1 and a fleece filter.

Any input on how to remove selected "Items" on FSS+ like low number US Service entries?. I've read the service DVD and that explains you can reinstate items to be done using the "Cancel confirm" option. But it doesn't explain how to remove potential DIY items like air filter changes, when they are done separately from, say US Service 12 and 13, which one may prefer the dealer to do.

2006 E350 with 22K miles. Just went in for E Service.

As cited... combined all services. This one hit the wallet a little bit at my local Benz dealer... $770. OUCH!

Changed oil, flushed coolant, changed brake fluid, changed air filter and all the "safety" checks.

Probably should have taken it to a non dealer Benz shop... but too late now.

I am getting "Service C exceeded by 37 days"

I followed the steps:

1. Switch on ignition. Use the scroll page to get to the temp,mph page.
2. Press the scroll forward and backward button( down arrow) repeatedly until the service date is displayed.( or if it says," Service exceeded.."
3. Keep the trip odometer reset button pressed for approx 5 seconds until the Service Menu appears in the display.
4. Using the + and - buttons, select Confirmation of Service
5. Press the system selection button ( lower of page buttons at 6 O'clock position) to confirm.
6. Press again to confirm.
7. Service Confirmed appears in Multifunction Display
8. Press the same button to get to the standard display
9. Turn ignition off. The next time you turn it on, the reminder should not appear.

#3 is were I am having the problem... after I press trip reset for 5 secs the "warning" dissapears and goes back to temp reading, not "Service Menu" I tried with car on, position one etc... What am I doing wrong??? Also, I used Mobil 1 5-30, is this really going to mess up my car, I recently found out i was suppose to use 0-40?
