E55 Cams in an E430 - worth it?
Hi everyone, new to the forum (and MBs for that matter). I was wondering if anyone knew if there is any performance advantage/disadvantage to installing W210 E55 camshafts into same year E430.
Any information would be helpful.
Thanks,
Antony

2001 E430
No one told me for sure if they fit. There is a set on E-Bay right now, and it started my semi-creative juices flowing. Here is a snip from my dialog with the seller:
"Hello, did you actually try them in an E430? If not, why not? I'm curious as to the outcome (I have a 2001 E430)."
Answer: No, I never got the chance. I got them for a friend that eventually was going to regrind them for another E55 that he had installed NOS and street raced the car. I would think the cams might add a bit more punch as they look the same as the 430 stock cams. In reality I guess it would have to be tried. For the $$$ it might be worth it as the cams new are very expensive and they aren't that hard to install with the proper tools.
