Hello, I'm going to be 5.4 swapping my 99 C43 soon and I have 2 quick questions you may be able to answer, I cannot find a lot of info on this. I have a 2006 C55 engine and transmission, transmission is a 722.636. I would really like to keep the PLIL, my plan is to drill out the plug, and drill and tap for the bolt that holds the linkage in. I'm under the impression that that would be only thing I need to modify before moving over the .631 PLIL parts. Other question is I'm unsure what valve body needs to be used. I will swap over the .631 shift solenoids and torque converter (I'd like to keep the TC drain plug, and apparently the "correct" stall speed).
I was reading up on the whole brake upgrade for the W210 and was looking at your post pictures, I saw you have a W210 Carlson and 6/4 caliper pictures. I commented on them and am not sure if you will see my comments, so I figured I would send you a personal message. You are the KING of brakes and I figured I would ask you directly; I would like to install the 6/4 brake set-up on my 99 E300 before I install my new injection pump and turbo, as I currently autocross it and would love to get the bigger cooler brakes set-up, before I go for SCCA solo and time trials. I would like to use OEM Mercedes parts, as I have access to wrecked MBs and can get the calipers etc for cheap. How would I go about the swap, do you make adapters or have a store online/eBay? What is the easiest bolt-on?
Thank you,
Doug Fielder
